This easy spicy garlic butter shrimp is packed with bold and vibrant flavors. It's quick, easy and requires a few basic ingredients. Whether you are a shrimp lover or just looking to try something new, spicy garlic butter shrimp is a must-try dish that is sure to satisfy your taste buds.
Remove the shells and devein the shrimp if necessary. Thaw if using frozen shrimp. Rinse and pat dry with paper towels or it might splatter oil.
Marinate shrimp with salt, pepper and paprika for 30 mins.
Mince 1 tbsp garlic and finely chop parsley or cilantro for garnish.
COOKING
On high flame, fry the shrimp in olive oil for 2 minutes (until almost cooked through). They will cook a little more when tossed in the sauce at the end. Shrimp cook really fast so be careful to not overcook them.
Cook in batches so the pan does not get overcrowded. Once done, set them aside for later.
Set flame to low, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
Add chilli flakes and sauté for another 30 seconds.
Add 1 tbsp cold butter and mix well.
Add lemon juice and mix well.
Next add in the seared shrimp and toss until cooked through.
Garnish with parsley/coriander/cilantro and serve with crusty bread to soak up the delicious butter sauce!

TIPS
Be careful to not overcook the shrimp or it will turn dry and rubbery.
Jumbo shrimp tastes great as it can handle longer cooking time and rarely gets over cooked.
The marination is important or the shrimp will not taste seasoned as it's a very short cooking time.
In case it's too spicy, add additional butter to lower the spice.
Also pairs well with salad, grilled vegetables, pasta and rice.
