Welcome to Break the Spice! It’s a pleasure to have you here 🙂

My name is Disha and I make simple recipes that taste great! If you don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen, you’re in the right place.

My recipes are easy, cost-effective and versatile. I try to give substitutes and tips whenever possible so you can recreate my dishes with minimal ingredients. I hope my recipes help you in your cooking journey and make you fall in love with simple home cooked meals.

About Break the Spice

I started Break the Spice in 2020 to share my collection of easy recipes. After two years of posting videos on YouTube, it was time to share more in-depth recipes.

My cooking journey began when I moved away from home for my first job. As a young adult who was always running low on time and supplies, I had to come up with creative ways to make my food taste good. After years of cooking and experimenting, I was eager to share everything I learned along the way. And so, Break the Spice was born.

My goal with this blog is to make cooking easy, fun and flexible. All my recipes are tried and tested so you don’t have trouble while cooking them. I also provide substitute ingredients so you can recreate my recipes with whatever you have on hand.

If you need help putting together a simple, tasty meal or just want to save time in the kitchen, I’ve got you!

How I Create Recipes

I am a self-taught photographer, videographer and recipe developer. Everything you see on Break the Spice is produced by me.

I’ve always loved food. Be it eating out, learning about new cuisines, or experimenting with recipes, I’m always up for it! I enjoy watching travel & food shows and get most of my inspiration from there. One day I hope to travel and eat all the yummy food I can find, but for now I’ve made my peace by cooking it at home!

My love for food photography and videography started with my YouTube channel. I started out making videos on my phone and graduated to a camera after I hit 10,000 subscribers! I’ve learned so much along the way and now find the process of recipe development, shooting and editing extremely fun!

Once again, thank you for being here. I hope you enjoy my recipes and find something that you will keep in your collection for years to come. Happy cooking!
